I didn't start in leadership. I started where a lot of the people I coach start — doing the work, proving myself, figuring out the unwritten rules as I went. Over more than twenty years I moved from individual contributor to technical lead, into trusted consulting, and more recently into leading and mentoring a team of my own.
That whole arc is what I bring to coaching. I know what it feels like to be talented and still overlooked, to be handed responsibility before you feel ready, and to have to grow your confidence in public. So I don't coach from a framework I read once. I coach from the road, because I've walked it.
